Pilot Training
Light Aircraft Pilot License - LAPL
This is the initial step towards mastering the skies – by obtaining this professional license, you will be a fully-fledged PIC (Pilot In Command). The holder of this license is authorized to operate a single-engine piston aircraft with a maximum takeoff weight of 2,000 kg/4,409 lb, capable of carrying one pilot and up to three passengers, for recreational purposes as the Pilot in Command.
A brief overview of the training
The training program encompasses both Ground School and practical aspects, providing an in-depth understanding of aviation, regulations, aircraft systems, meteorology, radio communication, and hands-on flight training. The breakdown is as follows:
- Ground School: 110 hours
- Practical flight training: 30 hours
To enroll in the program, you must meet the following requirements:
- Minimum of Second class or LAPL Medical Fitness to Fly
- Be at least 16 years old at the start of the training
- Be 17 years old to receive the LAPL permit
The cost of obtaining this qualification ranges starting from 5200 EUR.
(the actual price of the training may change based on current fuel prices and the development of the EUR-HUF exchange rate)
This is the first step in becoming a pilot. Whether you’re looking to fly as a hobby or become a professional pilot, this is the first license you will need to obtain. For most students, this category of license is sufficient, as it allows you to fly single-engine (or later even multi-engine) planes, and depending on the capacity of the aircraft, you can also bring along friends and family as passengers. With a PPL (Private Pilot License), you can act as the Pilot in Command (PIC) on a specified type of aircraft. You are allowed to transport passengers, but you cannot accept compensation for these flights. If you wish to fly for business purposes, you will need to obtain a Commercial Pilot License (CPL).
The training program is divided into Ground School and practical portions. The Ground School covers the following subjects:
- Ground School
- General aircraft knowledge
- Meteorology
- Air law and ATC procedures
- Operating procedures
- Human performance
- Navigation
- Flight performance and design
- VFR communication
What does the practical training involve?
The practical training consists of 45 hours of flight time, which includes: 25 hours with an instructor, 10 hours of solo flights (with 5 hours dedicated to a 185 km/100 nm cross-country route), and the remaining time is tailored to the student’s progress and proficiency.
- The training is designed to give students the knowledge and skills required to operate the aircraft safely.
- It begins with basic aviation exercises that gradually build towards being able to safely implement independent maneuvers.
- This is followed by training in navigation techniques. The course also includes solo flights, where the student flies without an instructor.
- Upon successful completion of the training, the student will take an official exam to demonstrate their knowledge.
After passing the exam, the Aviation Authority will issue a Private Pilot’s License, which allows the individual to fly independently.
Private Pilot License on Aeroplane - PPL(A)
A private pilot’s license is a certification that enables you to operate an aircraft for personal or business purposes as the pilot in command (without any limitations on the weight or number of passengers). It is also an essential first step in a career as a pilot. Ideal for taking your loved ones, friends, and acquaintances on a sightseeing flight or for a weekend getaway to a nearby beach.

The cost of obtaining this qualification ranges starting from 1200 EUR.
Airline Transport Pilot License Ground School - ATPL Ground School training
With this training, you will be able to join the ranks of pilots who can earn money by flying. The abbreviation ATPL stands for Airline Transport Pilot License, and it is the highest level of aircraft pilot certification. Those who hold an ATPL license are qualified to act as the aircraft commander in an air carrier service. Completing the ATPL Ground School is a requirement for obtaining employment with an airline.
A brief overview of the training
The goal of the ATPL course is to provide Ground School for pilots to actively participate and work at an airline. During this course, you will acquire a significant amount of knowledge related to the operation of airlines, as well as the rules and practical procedures of commercial aviation.
- Ground School: 10 hours
To enroll in the program, you must meet the following requirements: Private pilot license PPL(A)
The cost of obtaining this qualification ranges starting from 1800 EUR.
(the actual price of the training may change based on current fuel prices and the development of the EUR-HUF exchange rate)
Multi-Engine piston class rating on Aeroplane - MEP(A)
During this training, you will have the opportunity to fly powerful aircrafts at high speeds and altitudes. The MEP(A) rating expands upon the privileges of a Private Pilot License (PPL(A)) or Commercial Pilot License (CPL(A)) and permits you to fly multi-engine aircraft under Visual Flight Rules (VFR).
A brief overview of the training
During this training, pilots will learn how to operate multi-engine aircraft, as well as any on-board instruments and equipment that are not typically found on single-engine aircraft.
- Ground School: 6 hours
- Practical flight training: 6 hours
- Minimum of Second class Medical Fitness to Fly
- Private pilot license (PPL)

Instrument Rating on Aeroplane - IR(A)
This level of training demands more extensive pre-training and a specific flight routine from pilots. In this training, pilots learn to safely operate an aircraft solely by relying on the instruments. This is the first training where the simulator also plays an important role.
A brief overview of the training
The training will address what happens if the minimum weather conditions for visual flight rules are not met. Can we fly in fog or clouds? To a certain extent, yes! This training will provide answers to these questions and teach pilots how to fly in Instrument Meteorological Conditions (IMC) and make the necessary decisions (IFR).
- Ground School: 15 hours
- Practical flight training: 50 hours (35 hours in simulator)
- Valid First or Second class Medical Fitness to Fly with audiogram examination

With this license, pilots are eligible to perform air transport for compensation, making this training crucial for securing a job as an airline pilot.
A brief overview of the training
This training is particularly complex and demanding, but it is also the final step towards becoming a first officer at an airline. During the training, pilots will learn various procedures and rules of international airports and international aviation, as well as the operation and flying of “complex” aircraft (those with retractable landing gear and in-flight adjustable/constant speed propellers).
