Pilot trainings
LAPL / Light Aircraft Pilot License
This is the first step up to the blue sky! With this professional service license, you will already become a PIC (Pilot in Command), i.e. PILOT with a capital letter! The holder of the license is entitled to fly for recreational purposes as pilot-in-command on a single-engine piston aircraft with a maximum take-off weight of 2,000 kg, capable of accommodating 1 pilot and 3 passengers.
Training information in brief
The training program encompasses both Ground School and practical aspects, providing an in-depth understanding of aviation, regulations, aircraft systems, meteorology, radio communication, and hands-on flight training. The breakdown is as follows:
- Ground School: 110 hours
- Practical flight training: 30 hours
To enroll in the program, you must meet the following requirements:
- Minimum of Second class or LAPL Medical Fitness to Fly
- Be at least 16 years old at the start of the training
- Be 17 years old to receive the LAPL permit
The cost of obtaining this qualification ranges starting from 5200 EUR.
(the actual price of the training may change based on current fuel prices and the development of the EUR-HUF exchange rate)
This is the first step in becoming a pilot. Whether you’re looking to fly as a hobby or become a professional pilot, this is the first license you will need to obtain. For most students, this category of license is sufficient, as it allows you to fly single-engine (or later even multi-engine) planes, and depending on the capacity of the aircraft, you can also bring along friends and family as passengers. With a PPL (Private Pilot License), you can act as the Pilot in Command (PIC) on a specified type of aircraft. You are allowed to transport passengers, but you cannot accept compensation for these flights. If you wish to fly for business purposes, you will need to obtain a Commercial Pilot License (CPL).
The training program is divided into Ground School and practical portions. The Ground School covers the following subjects:
- Ground School
- General aircraft knowledge
- Meteorology
- Air law and ATC procedures
- Operating procedures
- Human performance
- Navigation
- Flight performance and design
- VFR communication
What does the practical training involve?
The practical training consists of 45 hours of flight time, which includes: 25 hours with an instructor, 10 hours of solo flights (with 5 hours dedicated to a 185 km/100 nm cross-country route), and the remaining time is tailored to the student’s progress and proficiency.
- The training is designed to give students the knowledge and skills required to operate the aircraft safely.
- It begins with basic aviation exercises that gradually build towards being able to safely implement independent maneuvers.
- This is followed by training in navigation techniques. The course also includes solo flights, where the student flies without an instructor.
- Upon successful completion of the training, the student will take an official exam to demonstrate their knowledge.
After passing the exam, the Aviation Authority will issue a Private Pilot’s License, which allows the individual to fly independently.
PPL(A) / Private Pilot License on Aeroplane
A private pilot license entitles you to fly privately or for your own business purposes as pilot-in-command (without weight and number of passengers restrictions). A private pilot’s license is also the first important step in a pilot’s career. It is perfect for taking your family members, acquaintances, and friends on a sightseeing flight or flying down to a nearby beach weekend.

ATPL - Airline Transport Pilot License Theory
With this training, you are entitled to fulfil paid flight services. The abbreviation ATPL stands for Public Traffic (Airline) Pilot License and is the highest level of aircraft pilot certification. Certified airline pilots are entitled to act as pilot-in-command of an aircraft in the air carrier service. Having the ATPL theory course is a requirement for hiring an airline.
Training information in brief
The goal of the ATPL course is to provide Ground School for pilots to actively participate and work at an airline. During this course, you will acquire a significant amount of knowledge related to the operation of airlines, as well as the rules and practical procedures of commercial aviation.
- Ground School: 10 hours
To enroll in the program, you must meet the following requirements: Private pilot license PPL(A)
The cost of obtaining this qualification ranges starting from 1800 EUR.
(the actual price of the training may change based on current fuel prices and the development of the EUR-HUF exchange rate)
MEP(A) / Multi-Engine piston class rating on Aeroplane
In this training, you can drive larger aircrafts at high speeds and even at higher altitudes. The MEP(A) rating extends the privileges of a Private Pilot License – PPL(A) or Commercial Pilot License – CPL(A) and allows you to fly more than one engine aircraft under Visual Flight Rules – VFR.

Training information in brief
The training will address what happens if the minimum weather conditions for visual flight rules are not met. Can we fly in fog or clouds? To a certain extent, yes! This training will provide answers to these questions and teach pilots how to fly in Instrument Meteorological Conditions (IMC) and make the necessary decisions (IFR).
